Day 13

I type this while face to face with another plate of steaming breakfast egg and veg...
Lots of jobs to do today then a 30th party tonight. I'll eat before we go out for dinner (who says that?!) so I can just have something small to limit the damage. I'll steer clear of beer and wine but may have a whiskey or two to join in on the celebrations.
Those are my intentions, lets see how it pans out!
Exercises still going well.

Day 8 - Weigh in

12st 13lbs.
4lbs shed in 7 days, gently easing back down to the 12 and a half stone mark that I class as a 'respectable' weight for my frame. Keeping the week 2 diet again this week, need to get a bit creative with the evening meals though. I'm getting bored of some of some of the staples already and need to nip that in the bud. The secret's not to have the same element of any evening meal twice in a row I think. Reintroduced myself to my old pal the avocado tonight though which was particularly enjoyable (the few drops of Lea and Perrin's certainly aren't allowed but if that's all I do wrong I won't beat myself up too bad!).
If any first timers are looking for feeding tips feel free to give me a shout. Happy to share my triumphs and disasters!
Exercises - check.
Photo uploaded too, nothing to see here.

Day 7 - Any Given Sunday

This is great! Last time round our day off was on a Tuesday or Wednesday, can't remember which, so it was nice to get a break from exercises during the week but they always hung over every weekend like a bit of a dark cloud. This time however, as we started on a Monday the rest day is a Sunday. So when I'd wrapped up my exercises after breakfast yesterday, I knew I wouldn't be back at it (save the 500 skips I just did which is no chore) until Monday evening. I think this is going to be a definite plus point this time round.

I bought some coconut oil over the weekend. One to discuss in the week 2 question forum I think. I tried a small scraping from the jar stirred into some wholewheat noodles with Thai basil leaves and a chopped scallion... lovely stuff and I know it's talked of as some sort of wonder oil (so it should be at £7 a jar!), but it is still oil at the end of the day. We'll see.

Had a couple of rums last night while watching a rerun of Lance and Oprah part 1, just neat over ice. Felt pretty rough this morning, i believe because there aren't the usual carbs in the diet to soak up the soup, but it certainly stirred the debate about how much of a knob old Lance is!

Fresh on the back of Chelsea Arsenal and Spurs Utd, I'm now settling in to watch the NFL conference championship games. Let's go Buff-a-lo (I wish).

Hope everyone FIYLed well this weekend. Bring on week 2.

Day 4 - Subzero

No, not the hockey stick wielding bad guy from The Running Man, but the temperature outside at skipping time. Glad we're only churning out low numbers at the moment and I can retreat to the warmth of the Bear Pit to wrap things up.
I bought some perfect push ups last time round, the ones that are in the advert claiming to be invented by a marine. They cost about £50 and I never used them. Sucker.
Anyway, if i remember rightly the reason I didn't use them was because while I could do, for example, 3x12 push ups using just my bare hands and an old fashioned piece of floor, when I introduced the 'perfect' contraption it turned out I could only do 1x12 then I'd collapse halfway through the 2nd set and resort to doing a couple more on the floor before tutting at my frivolous waste of money and moving on to the next exercise.
I'm using them from the start this time and so far so good, hitting the targets on each set and they now sit proudly in the living room, waiting for me to get home from work every day. Turns out I didn't use them last time cause it made exercising harder. Guess what? Exercising is supposed to be hard.
I'm definitely not suggesting anyone should buy press up machines just because they're endorsed by a marine, but I've already wasted my money so I'm going to give them a whirl. There's a moral to the story in there somewhere too. Something about corners.

Day 1 and a half

Ooft! I remember this feeling. 45 squats and I'm hobbling around the office like John Wayne today.
Show me the LUNGES!

Day 1

And away we go....
Start weight : 13st 3lbs. The less said about that the better.

Shambles in the kitchen this morning, one egg failed, mushrooms needed longer, coffee went cold, forgot about my spinach. It'll be down to a fine art by the end of the week though, mark my words!

Busy day at work so no issues re: hunger or anything like that. Was well armed with fruit. Home for exercises in the relative comfort of the back yard for skipping, living room for the rest. Ice applied to the groin which clearly found squats a bit too much to cope with.

Dinner was great. I roasted some turkey steaks in foil in the oven, oil free, just a crack of pepper. Steamed my allocation of veg in the wok with water (steamed, like i said) then chucked in 100gs of brown rice I cooked last night. But where's the flavour? Everyone's old friend 'Chinese five spice', dig it out from the back of the cupboard, he'll serve you well this winter, comrades!

Picture uploaded to Flickr, and here's one of the above mentioned FIYL compliant scran.

Time for a weird herbal tea. Until tomorrow....

Seconds out, ROUND 2

Here we go again.
Things have slipped dramatically in the last 2 months so looking forward to getting stuck in and already excited by the prospect of tailoring elements to our specific needs.
Delighted we have such a strong team assembled too. Let's get this thing smashed!
Time to start thinking about that 'goal physique'...
